How to Unlock and Collect Empyrean Traces
Availability:
The system becomes available early in the main storyline, usually around level 12–14.
Discovery:
Traces are scattered across open-world zones like Verteron and Altgard. They appear as glowing, interactable objects and are often tucked away in tricky spots—on cliffs, atop buildings, or in narrow crevices. You’ll need good observation and sometimes a bit of creative jumping or gliding to reach them.
Collection Goal:
Each major map contains hundreds of traces—for example, Verteron and Altgard together host around 560. Collecting them all is key if you want to unlock the top rewards.
Powering Up with Traces
Collecting traces is just the first step. To truly harness their power, you need to redeem them at a Monolith.
Redeem at Monoliths:
Monoliths are found in main hubs like Verteron, Altgard, or Azriel. Hand in your collected traces to start unlocking rewards.
Earn Mystic/Wisdom Stones:
Turning in traces gives Mystic Stones (also called Wisdom Stones), which are used to boost your character’s Mastery Skills.
Gain Skill Points:
These stones grant extra Skill Points, letting you level Mastery Skills beyond the usual cap of 10, up to 16—a rare and valuable way to become stronger.
Amulet Enhancement:
If you fully collect all traces in a region, you also get Enhance Scrolls. These are used to upgrade your Revelation Amulet for PvE or Fierce Battle Amulet for PvP, giving your gear extra power.
Exclusive Titles:
Completionists can earn titles like Saint of Verteron, which give permanent stat bonuses even when not equipped.
Strategic Tips for Traces

• Use Interactive Maps: Tracking hundreds of traces manually can be tough. Tools like the Aion 2 Interactive Map let you mark which feathers you’ve found and reveal hidden ones in tricky spots.
  
• Save Extras: If you end up with more feathers than needed for the max rewards, you can often exchange them for Enchantment Stones, giving you a bonus resource for gear upgrades.
